Texas Winter Date Ideas

Hi everyone, Happy Holidays! I have been so busy publishing my gift guides that I haven’t had the chance to do an actual blog post… but this one was highly requested so here ya go! I have included pricing and locations for each date idea as well.

  1. Iceskating at Discovery Green

1500 McKinney Street, Houston. $15 per person. Dylan and I have done this for two years now and we really enjoy it! This iceskating rink is in downtown Houston and isn’t too crowded if you go at a good time. Tickets can be bought in person and online, buy them online to skip the line and you can come skate any time that day. Also after iceskating you and your date can walk around the park.

  2. Snow in rice village

2414 University Blvd, Houston. Free for everyone. There will be fake snow blown every Friday night leading up to Christmas in Rice Village. The snow will “fall” right next to the Christmas tree between 6-8 pm. After watching the snow fall, there’s lots of shopping and eating to do in the Village!

  3. iceland/ Festival of lights

One Hope Boulevard, Galveston. $30.95 for BOTH Festival of Lights and Iceland per person. I’ve never visited Iceland, but I use to attend the Festival of Lights every year as a kid and I loved it! The Festival of Lights is a Christmas lights display along the trail at Moody Gardens. Grab some hot chocolate and enjoy a walk with your date. Iceland is an indoor Ice adventure. You and your date will change into huge snow jackets provided by Moody Gardens and enjoy ice slides, ice sculptures, and even an ice bar for those 21+.

  4. Santa’s wonderland

18898 HWY 6 South, College Station. $28.95 if you buy the SUPERSAVER tickets online, tickets are originally $44.95 at the gate. Enjoy a cute hayride and hot chocolate around a trail of huge lights display with your date! They also have lots of other activities to do.

  5. Riverwalk Lights

110 Broadway Street, San Antonio. FREE per person! The San Antonio Riverwalk is always a beautiful sight to see with a date, but when it’s decorated with Christmas lights it’s even prettier! This would be fun to walk up and down, shop a little bit and grab a bite to eat.

  6. Zoo lights

6200 Hermann Park Drive, Houston. $22.95 per person, but college students get discounted tickets on Wednesday’s. You and your date can enjoy pretty lights around the Houston Zoo after dark.

  7. enchant christmas

1000 Ballpark Way F, Arlington. Tickets start at $19.99 per person. Enjoy the world’s largest Christmas lights maze with your date! They also have iceskating and food! This would be such a fun road trip for you houstonians!

  8. The nutcracker

501 Texas Street, Houston. Tickets start at $14.00 per person. If you’re looking for a more relaxing date, enjoy watching the Houston ballet perform The Nutcracker. This is a Houston must-do!
